2015 & Woe-Be-Me

2015 has so far been a strange year, the work is coming in thick and fast, as usual I have a waiting list and for that I am sincerely grateful, I am however running way behind, there has to be a good and bad side to everything I guess....

Dad is 81 and lives on the Isle of Wight, on a really good day that's two and a half hours drive plus a 45 minute ferry crossing at between 75 and 90 quid a pop plus the petrol, in reality adding in a bit of traffic it's much nearer three and a half hours and if you don't book a ferry weeks in advance then said crossing is nearer the hundred quid mark.....

Anyway cutting a very long story short, just before Christmas Dad had a heart attack, not good at any age but really not good at age 81, it damaged both his heart and his brain, a weak heart and vascular dementia what a sorry state of affairs for a man that's been active and fit all his life....

So he was recovering well going into Christmas and we even managed to get him away for a week into a lovely little barn conversion at the bottom of the Cotswold's the exact name of the place escapes me, The dementia really showed itself up and there were a couple of horrific, **Oh my God** type of days and 4 days of good old Dad...

Mum & Dad went back off to the Isle of Wight with great plans to get Dad's nutrition right, start a bit of exercise and get a bit of help from the family that live there, you know what they say about great plans, for the next 7 months they went wrong, horribly wrong.....

A fall left him with a couple of cracked vertebrae which saw the prescription of some serious pain killers that left him the vegetable in the corner, salivating and pissing himself, we won't mention the number two's, a wreck of a man, and the wreck of the family around him too...

Almost as if by magic when the pain killers stopped Dad reappeared literally over night, when the family asked the Doctor his response was, "Yes, the pain killers will have that effect" It does rather beg the question "So why did you not give any warning to his 81 year old wife who could have died with the stress this past few months" Funny also, or not funny really, everything they suggest for Dad to enhance his life he has to pay for, at 81 he started work at 14 and has paid into the system some 67 years in all, now the system repay's him by charging him for everything because he has got to the end of his day's owning his own house and having a few quid in the bank, that makes me really angry...but moving on....

So things now after many months and a fair few trips up and down the motorway are at an even keel, Jan the eldest daughter has moved in as a full time carer and myself and Mel are doing our bit breaking her etc...there is as there always is one low life scum bag who is not doing his bit, funnily the one who has had the most help over the years and has always been at the ready with his hand held out to take, take, take......He'll have to live with himself i guess...

So all this and a few small other things leaves me floundering way way behind on my orders, most I have explained to have been great, a couple have been refunded which saddens me, as a one man bad having folks out there that have come away from a transaction dissatisfied is never a good thing...

And that would be my woe be me tale for 2015 but the news is not all bad....

Along the way our family grew, this is Murphy my new apprentice and Mel's baby boy, he is 17 weeks old and a *Schnoodle* one of the new designer dog's.....a very clever way of selling a cross breed or as we used to call them a mongrel for a lot of money...

We care not he was worth every penny and every day brings us much joy, bless him.....

Not my usual style of blog I know but you have to get shit off your chest sometimes...

Thanks for reading, take care....
